Pros
Without a doubt, the levels of professional expertise in the Healthcare Informatics section of CCE were top notch. In addition, I found my colleagues there quite personable, easy to work with, unselfish about sharing their knowledge and always willing to help when asked.
Cons
Seemingly ever-increasing levels of mandatory bureaucracy: multiple time-management systems requiring daily, weekly and biweekly data-entry; weekly, quarterly, yearly and optional three-year goal-setting tasks; artificial sharing of daily missed goals with members of other CCE depts who for the most part probably did not have an understanding of what was being presented. Open work environment (no cube walls) which very often interfered with productivity due to an inability to shield yourself from others' phone conversations and desk-side discussions with other colleagues. Sound-cancelling headphones helped some employees, but that shouldn't be an almost necessary requirement to be fully productive. Inadequate compensation for the levels of expertise presented. Inadequate health-care benefits, especially for employees of a leading healthcare organization.
