Good place to start out of college. Put in my year here, left for a +50% pay raise first chance I got. - Asset Servicing BNY Employee Review

Pros

Kind, simple life coworkers. Good resume builder *for a year only*. Immediate 100% up to 6% 401k match. Company supplied laptops. Flex-time dependent on manager. Work from home capability dependent on manager. No clock-in/out. Dismissal during inclimate weather. Hour lunch break with additional time to break/get fresh air. Many great fast casual dining options located a mile or two away. Decent outdoor aesthetic, they keep up with the landscaping. Plentiful parking, with large parking spots.

Cons

Working next to a call center. Low quality of people in call center equating to overall campus' sleepy atmosphere, high turnover, abused facilities. If it's a profit-machine, wall them off as to not distract other employees. Low pay, low resources mean smart employees will not burn themselves out for essentially meaningless work with ancient/nonsensical procedures. Traffic in this area is abysmal. Top 3 worst in the country. Rent is absurdly high. Employees routinely travel over an hour each way to just get a few miles. Warehouse building needs to be gutted. From the cubes, to the bathrooms, to the kitchen.

Pros

There is real opportunity for career and skill growth. The company runs short on head count, so people willing to take on more responsibilities have avenues to progress. However, you will need to force the issue for promotions & large salary increases after you prove your capabilities. Realistically it'll take an external counteroffer to move the needle.

Cons

It's a large bank and you're a number in the system. If your NPV is positive you'll stay, else you'll be laid off. This includes both scenarios you control and those you don't. Ex. You control your performance, in office time and networking You don't control if your location is a strategic growth site, if a major client goes with a competitor, or if you'd be impacted by a general company-wide layoff plan.
