very big, following BNY/Mellon merger of 2007
Cons
Quick to lay off the most long-standing employees to save money. Now have separation policy whereby laid off employees can't work while receiving separation pay -- otherwise they forfeit it. This harms those most who gave many years to the company (they are of course usually the oldest also). So, a double case of age discrimination.
