Sr Management communicates broad issues/initiatives well. During the merger/integration, updates were provided frequently. The CEO. Bob Kelly, even has a blog (and pictures) describing his recent activities and issues as they arise. Sr Mgmt. is committed to expanding the company worldwide and supports many diversity initiatives.
Cons
Middle managers vary in communication and developing staff. Some managers are great at providing new growth opportunities and developing succession plans. Many managers do not develop next level staff, or provide opportunities to develop new skills or introduce staff to key people within the company. Business as usual often tends to mean "don't ask questions, just do your job." Often promotions are based on number of years tenured and favorites within the company. Many long term managers that are not looking for new ways to innovate or change.
