Pros
Remote Work. Decent health insurance.
Cons
Lack of transparency Bossware on work computers High Turnover. Three classes of employees Bold claims to be transparent. They are not. Their business model is based on hoping customers who are looking for work, and can’t actually afford to forget to cancel their subscriptions, do just that and forget to cancel. It’s predatory, but hey, they treat their employees just as badly as they do their customers. High turnover in leadership and lots of toxic upper level management. I’ve seen less toxic folks in charge at investment banks. Company claims there is no spyware or bossware for remote employees. Don’t believe a word of that. If you’re remote, your laptop will come with software that will allow them to do that. Additionally they claim you get unlimited PTO, but I was disappointed and disgusted to discover many of my colleagues don’t have unlimited PTO, as it’s not offered to hourly employees, and many BOLDers are in fact hourly. It’s a senseless creation of multiple classes of employees, because there are contractors, too, who are also treated differently. There’s a reason I had never heard of Bold before I applied for a job here. Unless you like a culture of lies, misrepresentation, and opaque leadership, find work elsewhere.
