Pros

Remote working contracts. Size of agency means hypothetical possibility to work on new project types/therapy areas, although limited in reality. Salary market average.

Cons

Communication and organisation significantly poorer than other agencies. In my experience, briefs, project notes, and feedback are rarely documented, employees are frequently moved between teams, and there is no consistent central repository for key information or resources. Career development lacks structure across all levels. There are no formal training programmes, feedback is rarely given. Recognition for strong performance is limited. Consistently delivering high-quality work and going above expectations is rarely acknowledged and does not seem to translate to career progression. Workloads are often unsustainable. The volume of work makes it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance, or to consistently deliver quality work. Working beyond contracted hours is expected and not compensated.

Pros

Interesting projects and great clients

Cons

I was so excited to take this job because I had heard BOLD was different from other agencies. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Leadership on my team was sorely lacking, and everyone was too busy being overloaded to pitch in to help a new employee learn the ropes. I got consistently positive feedback on my work but was still made to feel like a cog in a machine with no real chance for growth. Pay was poor and I was frequently expected to work overtime with no compensation-- even though BOLD has a policy to pay back overtime work, I was directly told by my manager that I should not use it. When I tried anyway, the request was ignored.
