Pros
The work can be very interesting and management places a lot of responsibility on young employees which makes for great work experience early in your career. Your colleagues and superiors are typically very intelligent, capable, and respectful and you learn a lot from them.
Cons
The hours are occasionally very long, especially near deadlines. Clients will make unexpected demands with short deadlines which require late nights and weekend work, but that is the nature of the consulting profession. The upward mobility for young employees is good from Research Analyst through Consultant, so it's a great job out of college or early in your career, but not a great long-term option.
