Pros

Good benefits and compensation, depending on which practice you work in the annual retreat is also a good time - if you like drinking. I’ve heard some ppl get in good teams and learn a lot I just didn’t have that at all.

Cons

Work-life balance is a hit or miss, some days I would hear about a project and it would be “on a deadline” so you could be put on something where you work 12-17 hour days. Sometimes that would have a learning experience other times it would be a QA where honestly I would just be highlighting cites. Other days I would hear about something small like a couple hours worth and then zip the rest of the day and you’d just never know. In my experience a practice is either all in person or fully remote and you don’t really get any company culture unless you’re a “bro”. No diversity just a semblance of it

Pros

Learn from really smart people on interesting projects. Standard of quality is very high - most of the work product ultimately ends up in front of courts or regulators. Lots of opportunity for development and working in different groups.

Cons

Usually engaged by law firms on behalf of clients.
