Pros
The people here are great. Backflip has done an amazing job of assembling an extremely talented team full of some of the nicest and easiest to work with people I've been lucky enough to call coworkers. I honestly look forward to coming to work every day. Backflip does a good job taking care of it's employees and acknowledging their efforts. The compensation/benefits package is among the most competitive I've seen in my career and there are tons of wonderful, additional perks that come with the job. The work/life balance here is pretty positive and flexible so long as you're meeting expectations and deadlines on your project. Leadership is very approachable and always willing to communicate with the employees. There also seems to be a willingness to listen to the employees and try to improve upon shortcomings.
Cons
Growing from a very small, flat company to a larger company has definitely presented a number of obstacles that have caused issues at times. Lack of real deparment structure has been cause for issues of determining who has final say/approval of decisions as they relate to a product. Decision making sometimes feels reactionary or uninformed by a solid pre-production process, which sometimes results in development teams not being set up for success. It also sometimes feels like we "bite off more than we can chew", green lighting internal projects that we don't have the resources to appropriately staff. Admittedly, I think manage has done a good job recently of listening to these concerns as well as making some very strong hires to help address such issues and improve our processes.
