Pros

- Smart and motivated colleagues - Partnership culture: people are supportive and care about you - Great place to start in investment: they are used to hiring junior people so they know how to work with them and train them (on the job and through specific sessions) - Very strong brand that opens doors

Cons

- Large organization now: progression is slow and structured, political - Demanding work but you would expect that in the industry - Not very responsive to employee's development desires: used where you are needed instead of where you want / it would make sense for your development

Pros

Big Company with lots of perks, They have a gym, they have a good cafe and an in house barista.

Cons

Know this going in: you are expendable, and loyalty here runs one way. Your job can be gone for any reason, at any time — stellar reviews won't save you. All it takes is some office-politics nonsense and suddenly you're out, no job, no benefits. They will also work you into the ground. On call 24/7. And do not kid yourself — HR is not your friend. They make plenty of promises they never keep, and they'll smile at you while they get ready to cut you loose. Bottom line: squirrel away your money and build a cushion, because they will throw you away the moment it suits them.
