Pros
A place where many of your co-workers are actually your friends. Exciting concepts being introduced and cutting edge on benefits. Good pay when you take into account the generous bonus program. Ethical senior leadership with a conservative risk management strategy. I learned so much in my discipline but also about high levels of customer service and always putting the client first.
Cons
The decision making process is consensus driven, so it can take forever to get something done. It is very relationship based, so you need to invest a significant amount of time in getting to know your people and others you will work with across all departments. Having a great idea won't stand alone unless you have everyone's support.
