Pros

Baker Hughes spent time hiring the best so your coworkers are smart. Benefits are good and permissive leave is great if you work with a group that supports you.

Cons

Baker Hughes is now getting rid of their good employees. The company is posting great profits but those are based on drastically reducing jobs in support functions like HR, Finance, and IT. Layoffs have been happening for almost a year to meet an overpriced consultant's recommendation. Any job that is deemed critical is being moved offshore because leaders cannot hire in the U.S. or Canada. Individual performance doesn't matter. Don't think you are valuable or irreplaceable, because you're not.

Pros

Competent management, excellent benefits, competitive pay, and a work life balance that is impossible to compete with

Cons

The totem pole of management is so monumentally tall that the mid and upper management make decisions affecting those on the bottom with no real understanding of what the consequences of their decision are.
