Pros

The schedule is decent but all shifts are 12.5 hours.

Cons

Ballad Health suffers staffing issues across the board due to poor uncompetitive pay. As a security officer they were so understaffed you could not use your earned vacation. You will be started at no more than $16 per hour have to work 12.5 hours days. They charge you for a lunch break which is in violation of federal law as you work by yourself and never receive a "bona fide" lunch break as law requires. You must work through your lunch and answer calls. They just recently started having you pay $550 out of pocket for your training that they will reimburse but they do not tell you this upon hiring. They also do not tell you at hiring that if your wife works and if health insurance is offered at her work even if it is twice as expensive she cannot go on your plan.. For $16 per hour they expect a high level of professionalism, you will get kicked, punched, spit at swore at by patients there seems to be very little support for officers, you will be micromanaged by corporate staff via video systems. After about 5 months I had enough I was unable to use any of my earned vacation time during my service, they would not allow me to work out a 3 week notice and use up my vacation time on the third week and would not reimburse for vacation either. So they kept over $1000 of my earned time. Do yourself a favor and do not apply to this position it is nothing but a headache and you can do much better just about anywhere else. They are a legalized monopoly that do not pay a living wage to most employees a majority of the payroll pays exorbitant salaries to the numerous executives. Without much effort I found a job paying considerably more $ with better medical benefits at lower cost and hiring bonuses.

Pros

I worked with some great people who genuinely cared about their jobs. I gained valuable experience in healthcare operations, analytics, and reporting.

Cons

My experience with Ballad Health was extremely disappointing due to the workplace culture within my department. I experienced what felt like a highly cliquish environment where favoritism appeared to influence how employees were treated. My manager’s leadership style felt hostile, and I often felt undervalued, unsupported, and treated differently from employees who were part of a preferred inner circle. I also felt that personal characteristics influenced workplace interactions, which contributed to an uncomfortable and discouraging work environment.
