Banfield Pet Hospital

Engaged Employer

This place lures you in with promise of advancement in the industry but turns around and makes pay cuts. - Office Manager Banfield Pet Hospital Employee Review

Pros

Previously, compensation for doing your job; owp bonuses, csc service points, nurse production. Benefits and 401K matching are very competitive. Hours are flexible and you have the chance to work as much as you want to work. Discounts on services and wellness plans to both ft and pt staff are amazing. Drs ready and willing to see your personal pet and offer the best options for treatment.

Cons

Low pay, they took away bonuses for wellness plans then demanded you double your wellness plan enrollments. Inability to move up in the company unless someone leaves their position. Field trainers do not train, they put it on other staff in other hospitals to do their job but not pay them for it. This company just wants to make money, wants you to upsell products and get clients to spend a certain amount of money each visit sometimes on stuff they don't necessarily need. Always focused on seeing more pets, not providing top notch service to those already in the hospital.

Pros

Benefits package is decent, engaging with clients and pets is rewarding. Diverse hospital teams.

Cons

It’s lip-service about employee well-being and caring about pets as the mission, unless it increases the bottom line. There are individuals within the hospital and company that certainly care on a personal level but overall, Banfield is just another Mars corporation looking for infinite growth.
