Pros
The training from the management staff is excellent, covers all the bases and they encourage the agents to learn on their own as well. Lots of communication, positive feedback and never a disparaging remark made if an agent is struggling. Flexibility of schedule allows time for family and work, lots of incentives and vacations are offered and encouraged. They offer sales leads, which very few if any other companies do anymore, as well as marketing lists, sales training, etc. Team environment. Commissions are on par with other companies, however the bonus structure at Bankers Life is unmatched anywhere in the industry. A very successful agent can have a $45,000 quarterly bonus each quarter. They reward hard work and effort, very refreshing to be recognized for working hard.
Cons
If someone is not comfortable with talking to strangers or does not put in the work necessary to succeed, they will most likely not last long with the company. It is a commission based position, so people who need a steady income stream would have a tough time in the beginning. The first few months are definitely the toughest, lots of training (especially if you do not have any sales training or experience) and trying to build up the client list.
