Amazing coworkers, very rewarding working hands on with the animals, flexible schedule

It's very difficult work and incredibly demanding on your body. Leadership was a bit disorganized, there was a lot of employee turnover.

paid internship which is great. cool staff and lots of time with animals

after working for a while in the sanctuary field, i don't feel that the internship at barn sanctuary actually prepares you well for working in animal caregiving. you are not given much education or explanation for tasks and their attention to medical issues for their residents is subpar
