Pros

Training opportunities were solid, especially early on. Working with the production crew was genuinely rewarding; great people who care about trees and each other. Learning about arboriculture and spending time outdoors made the work meaningful despite the company’s flaws.

Cons

Below-average pay for the level of responsibility and expertise required/expected. Leadership is inconsistent and often absent in key operational areas; Lots of “I’ll be there” but was never there. Nepotism influences promotions and decision-making at the division level. Accidents are sometimes minimized or not addressed transparently, creating safety concerns. The company’s rapid growth feels unsustainable, and sales practices can at times prioritize profit over integrity. Many crew members operate under a sense of fear or hesitation to speak up due to potential retaliation. I witnessed several employees be treated poorly for speaking up, myself included. I also personally witnessed practices that appeared to push the boundaries, which was concerning. I could go on and on in this section…

Pros

The field work itself is interesting for those with a background in forestry Working outside on beautiful properties with clients who love their yards and the work you do is refreshing. Some employees may clock 8 hours and be out and home by noon. Plant health care specialist get to work on tree crews in the winter.

Cons

The vibe here isn't great. Some people are pushed through certifications and its just not safe. They're all about profit, even if it means wasting money and resources for a quick buck. Not enough safety gear – I was told to use the same gloves for pesticides for a whole month! Equipment never works, and they expect us to fix everything. Not enough work or chances to grow. Nobody seems to care. Management's communication is all over the place and often unprofessional. There's no support either. New hires are just left to figure things out,
