Pros

Met smart and good people along the way

Cons

Basis is going downhill quickly and letting go nearly 10% of their workforce this year is very telling of that. Many of the employees terminated had been with Basis for 10+ years and were carelessly let go via a five minute phone call with a stranger from HR reading a statement telling them that Basis has suddenly decided they’re better off without them. The higher-ups treat their employees like pawns and I wonder how they sleep at night knowing how negatively they’ve impacted dedicated employees’ livelihoods. If Basis were actually transparent about their status in this recession and didn't put on such a front, perhaps they’d deserve a pinch of the respect and praise they so desperately crave. You’ll notice in several other reviews here mention there is a “honeymoon phase” when you’re new to Basis, but be warned that it’s not genuine and you are seen as extremely disposable, no matter your tenure or good work.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand the impact workforce changes may have had on long-term employees, and very much empathize with the pain that comes with these hard decisions. While we understand the challenges and frustrations associated with any type of workforce reductions or restructuring, I want to assure you that such decisions are never taken lightly. They are carefully considered to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of Basis Technologies as well as respect and dignity for our impacted employees. I appreciate your perspective and your understanding. (Emily Barron, Chief People Officer)

Pros

There’s an excellent work life balance. We receive perks such as reimbursement for fitness, education, and other expenses. Employees also have a 3 week paid sabbatical once every 4 years of employment.

Cons

Not all departments or groups receive the same recognition. Ad Operations often feels forgotten in the totem pole.

Pros

Great friendly company culture. People doing their best to take care of each other.

Cons

Unless it is not longer safe. Right now the company is still figuring out their product route.
