Pros
The job overall isn’t terrible. It’s great to work here and learn from. Benefits are okay, I guess and could be better but alright for what’s it’s worth. The things I’ve learned here are awesome and I tend to use it outside of work as well. I balance home and work perfectly and appreciate the above and beyond my store manager does for me.
Cons
Pay isn’t worth it. I’ve worked here for 6 years and barely make anything to survive. They push us to push promos and add-ons and say “that’s where the money is” but it doesn’t help when they refuse to pay for advertising and we’re stuck servicing the same people everyday so no one wants to do add-ons or promos because half the time they already purchased said items. It also doesn’t help that the same promos have been on sale for 6 months. The companies “thank you” for working through Covid-19 was an expired box of candy from the Halloween a year before everything shut down, and yes it was Halloween candy because the Reese’s was pumpkin shaped and a lot of the chocolate was white. For as much money that this company makes, they do not pay their employees enough. Store managers either. Why does my SM work overtime but his salary can’t increase? I applied for an inside sales position because I want to grow with this company and increase my knowledge base, being a sales associate, you can’t grow, I got denied because of whatever reason HR pulled up. I basically ran my old location with no managers pay, I increased sales and brought back a lot of commercial customers that refused to come back at first. Batteries Plus doesn’t care about their employees as long as the “top dogs” have full pockets while the people who are actually putting the money in their damn pockets are scraping the ground for pennies and can barely take care of themselves and their families in this economy. 6 years and I’m about to quit entirely because I am not getting the recognition I know I deserve and obviously they don’t care about a current employee who wants to expand their horizons within the company further. 0/10, do not recommend.
