Coworkers are excellent Learn lots of skills Practice at the top of your scope Excellent teamwork among staff; physicians, PAs, NPs, and CNAs included.
Cons
Forced to take shuttle to and from work- have to show up to the parking lot to make it on the bus in time and you're not paid for it. Patient population can be tough to deal with at times, many patients are not in a good way and can take their anger out on you (addicts specifically). Level 1 trauma academic center, you will be learning a lot but you will most certainly be on your feet hustling for almost your entire shift (if not the whole shift). Don't expect to get your lunch break.
