Pros

I stayed mostly for my coworkers. Benefits are the same at any other place if you work full time.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Essentially voluntold when you look at your assignments. Management all over the place. You tell the DON something needs to be done, it won't be done until maybe 2 weeks later.

We're glad you built relationships with your co-workers, and we hope you also had some positive takeaways during your time with us. Also, we hope you were able to take full advantage of the benefit offerings - retirement savings (both pre-tax and Roth with employer match), low-cost medical insurance, only $10 to enroll and a reimbursement plan to help with various out-of-pocket medical costs, scholarships, opportunities to upskill. We can't comment specifically on the daily assignments or what was told to the DON but we hope you were able to speak to someone about your concerns prior to your departure. If you still would like to discuss your concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the HR department or the CEO (you can contact the front desk for the contact info: 510.733.2102.) Take good care and best wishes.

Pros

I've worked at Baywood Court for over 10 years. I've stayed because of the people (co-workers and residents), it's a safe place to learn, the pay is competitive based on market data and demographics, it's meaningful work (servicing seniors), there is autonomy to make decisions, and we have fun even though we have a lot on our plates each day (but what workplace doesn't have work that needs to get done!)

Cons

Working with seniors, in many cases, this is the last leg in their life journey and it is sad when their journey ends. But being able to service and care for them, provides meaning and purpose.

Thank you for your 10 years of dedication to Baywood Court! We truly appreciate your commitment to our residents and your kind words about our team and work environment. It’s wonderful to hear that you find meaning in your role, and we’re proud to provide a place where employees can learn, grow, and make a real difference in the lives of seniors. We understand that working with seniors comes with emotional moments, but as you said, being able to care for them brings deep meaning and purpose. At Baywood Court, our mission is to ensure that seniors live in health, happiness, and dignity, and we are grateful for compassionate team members like you who help bring that mission to life every day. Thank you for all that you do, we are lucky to have you!
