Pros

Activities, Employee Outings, Some of the Trainings. Some Management really care about you and want to see you succeed. IT department has great employees that guide/train you on software issues.

Cons

Depending on your management is a hit or miss. If you work under a great RVP you'll be successful given the right training, support and tools. If you end up with horrible management (RVP's, Property Managers/Area Managers etc) your work life will be dreadful to say the least. Upper management needs to visit properties more often to get a more actual understanding of what is going on instead of just asking the local or regional/area managers. They cannot fix problems unless they confront them on their own. The upper management tends to trust entirely on what managers say/do instead of conducting thorough investigations by asking onsite employees. Regional/Area Managers tend to deplete the meaning of Teamwork, instead of working together for a goal they compete between each other and put faults between Administration and Maintenance. Some Management harass employees to lie and hide issues and when you refuse they retaliate. It's unfortunate because it seems like the company could become very successful but due to some rotten apples it holds it off and creates constant employee turnovers and further issues. Also, trainings need to be more specific to sites. There are general trainings that don't need to be specific to sites (Fair Housing, Customer Service Etc) but other trainings need to be site specific/onsite so employees who start new don't get lost in general terms that don't necessarily apply to their property. Ongoing onsite training would also be a plus, although there is email/phone communication nothing compares to actual day to day onsite training! Some employees at the corporate level are very professional and help onsite employees in a very courteous manner, but other departments are not as willing to help and you are frowned upon for contacting them.

Good afternoon, On behalf of the team at Beacon, I sincerely apologize that your experience did not match our intention of being a best place to work. I also want to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are reviewing your feedback and all the areas in which we failed to deliver a great work experience to you. Beacon is committed to our open door policy which extends to my office. We also have an anonymous integrity tip line for employees to report any interpersonal or HR related issues that they are not comfortable discussing with their supervisors or which involve their supervisors. Regarding property visits, we do require all supervisors to visit their properties regularly. Pam Goodman, our CEO, and myself regularly tour properties and meet with property level team members to give them a chance to voice their concerns or any suggestions for improving Beacon. We are also working hard to offer training more often and in more locations to better serve our property teams. This, in addition to a more robust mentoring program as an extension of our 90-day onboarding checklist should allow all property team members to receive adequate support to be successful. Again, Beacon is very committed to open communication throughout all levels of the organization. We are very grateful that you provided us this feedback which we might learn from and I invite you to contact me directly to discuss the concerns mentioned in your review. Sincerely, Jeff Baker, President

HR leaves something to be desired. Do not respond with any urgency.

Pros

Early release Fridays Good PTO

Cons

For early release Fridays you end up having to do more work at a faster pace. I worked for my site for the entire year and when they were supposed to pay out a bonus of roughly $13k dollars at the end of the year they said that because I put my notice in they wouldn't honor my bonus. When someone works the entire year and because you take an extra 5 months to close your financials that should not be my problem. Pay people that have rightfully worked for you for the entire duration of the fiscal year. Fair is fair.
