Pros
Great for your resume. Company has no debt. Exposed to many different cross functional departments. Friendly coworkers, young atmosphere (however all my friends are leaving the company!)
Cons
Literally a 10% chance of promotion based on percentage of Assistant to Associate buyers. You do the work of atleast 4 people. They move you around from department to department as your 'second assignment', but you get no raise and more work. I have been with the company for 3 years in multiple departments, and they are now hiring 22 year olds who are probably making the same amount as I am You are an assistant 'buyer' but most of your tasks are administrative and take a very long time to complete because the systems are so old and archaic. You can spend up to 2 hours doing item updates or pricing changes. Management has no interest in your growth which Is why there is a crazy amount of people leaving. in fact we say 'another one bites the dust' everyday and see this as a normal thing. Most everyone I know in the office that is there longer than a year wants to leave Extremely corporate and boring atmosphere; virtually no perks. Only basic holidays off (no floating holidays such as MLK or Presidents' Day) Holiday party with cold food is the biggest joke of the office for a huge and profitable company. Lots of talk in the office and to HR about our want and need for summer Friday's but they will probably never be implemented
