Pros
Pay is decent. Benefits are okay if you are in network and 403b match is good.
Cons
They have recently decreased the number of step-down/IMC/progressive care beds and have made most all cardiac and cardiac procedure patients medical surgical level of care. They are placing sick patients requiring sophisticated and time intensive nursing care in 6 patients for 1 nurse groups. It's unsafe. It's prioritizing money over patient care and patient safety. They have made icu a closed unit and are allowing those nurses to stay home and take vacation pay while other units work dangerously short. They took away incentives like bonuses and overtime for staff nurses when there are critical staffing shortages and then also tried to get rid of travel staff making matters even worse. Poor planning and foresight on the part of upper management.
