Pros
Lots of long time employees; many of whom have "grown up" thru the ranks Very nice people to work with. Folks tend to take responsibility seriously People really, really care about the customer. Everyone from the mail room to the C-suite bends over backwards to exceed customer expectations. Field sales team is treated particularly well.
Cons
There's really only ONE customer. All of their eggs are in one basket. Home grown management has no idea how departments really should function. Many have never worked anywhere else or were in dramatically different roles with previous employers. There are ZERO opportunities for growth. If you are young and climbing the corporate ladder, you'd be better off elsewhere. This is where people come to live out their last years before they retire. Pay isn't good but employment is steady.
