Great team and flexible hours, but miss calculations - Trainer Bella Baby Photography Employee Review

The people are what make this company special. The leadership team is supportive, approachable, and genuinely cares about both employees and the families we serve. The work is meaningful because you get to be part of such an important milestone in people's lives, and there are opportunities to grow into leadership roles if you're willing to put in the effort. There is a strong sense of teamwork, and many employees are passionate about helping one another succeed.

The job can be demanding, especially in leadership. Staffing shortages, last-minute schedule changes, and balancing multiple priorities can make it difficult to maintain work-life balance. Since photographers work independently across many hospitals, coaching and communication can also be challenging. Compensation could be more competitive given the level of responsibility expected in management positions.

Getting to take photos of newborns.

The pay scale was really unfair. It was solely on commission. If you did the shoot, edited, and showed the parents, but they wanted to purchase later at a time you weren’t there then all of your earnings went to whoever did the final transaction. They earned a lot of money off of my work. It creates animosity amongst your coworkers. Also, the owners would take us out for these long & lavish meals and spend up to $1000 or more to “thank us”, but never gave us a bonus or raise. It was all very showy and a waste of time. It was actually quite infuriating to have a 4 hour meal we had to attend and not get anything from it. At the hospital there was a lot of wasted time just sitting around waiting for a room to be ready to shoot or show the slideshow or to even decide if they wanted to do it at all. The babies were great, but it’s the difficult parents & family members that made the job so hard.
