Pros

Free lunches on Wednesdays, nice views from office, dedicated and smart coworkers, good location if you live in the suburbs and hate the NYC commute, booze and food stocked in the company kitchen.

Cons

One of the owners of this company yells and screams at staff daily—really and truly. And certain other top managers are not a lot better. The whole place feels like a war zone on the worst of days. There is high turnover, of course. Also, there are bizarre rules enforced, such as asking full-time employees to sign out whenever they leave the office, not being allowed to hang your coat on your chair at your desk, and half the staff not having phones at their workstations. No eating at your desk allowed unless it's a "snack" (vs. a meal). Worst of all, the products are severely rushed, and quality suffers terribly as a result. If you care about doing a good job and being treated with respect, this is the wrong place to work.

Pros

I became incensed when I came across the reviews on Glassdoor and wanted to contribute my own review. I suppose things have changed here at Benchmark because I have a completely different view of this organization. I work fully remote from home. The culture is collaborative. People are NICE and very professional!! The 401k benefits match at 25% of my contributions (not 3 or 4% like most companies) AND they have a profit sharing bonus. It's a very inclusive and diverse company. Thank you, Benchmark. I'm going to reach out to other employees and see if we can 'up' these numbers with positive reviews!

Cons

I wish I could visit the main headquarters and meet my peers in-person someday.

Pros

May be manageable if you are 100% remote.

Cons

If you have to be in the New Rochelle office, it is truly a strange place with bizarre, abusive management. The negative reviews are accurate. You will hear yelling, shouting, cursing, and insults thrown around casually. It’s usually directed at individuals. This comes from the very top CEO - the bad vibes trickle down through middle management and onto workers. Turnover is extremely high, lots of layoffs and outsourcing. Occasional free lunch doesn’t make up for the horrible culture. Systems are convoluted and there’s no real training process or HR, so a lot of times one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing.
