Pros
The people who work here are very kind and willing to help. Every day is an opportunity to learn a lot about the field and resources within the area. You get the chance to work with local mental health providers, which can be potentially great for networking. The company overall has great goals and I appreciate what they are trying to do for families in Bergen County. Definitely a good job for a recent college/graduate school grad in the field. Many opportunities for trainings. Benefits package is decent.
Cons
The workload is certainly a lot to get used to, and the work is extremely fast paced and requires a great deal of flexibility, calmness, and critical thinking. Be prepared to work in the evening sometimes. Flex time is complicated and you are required to adjust your schedule rather than earn flex time or overtime. Salary is expected for social services. No clinical hours for social workers or counselors. There is not much room for movement within the company, only to a Senior Care Manager, which does not involve much of a pay raise and a lot more duties. Supervisors are not hired within due to the lack of clinical supervision, which is frustrating.
