Pros

Every day I believe Berkshire Communities allows me as a Property Manager to mentor and ask my Team what change they are going to make today to make our community the best place to live. We set goals for the property as a Team and each sets individual goals based on where they see themselves in the future. Then we act upon them! I teach my team to think positively and only visualize positive things; to never give up on a dream or goal; to trust, respect and honor your family (teammates) and live by the statement "This is your Home!" At Berkshire Communities we take ownership of the community by spending money wisely, thinking on our feet, and being prepared to face any challenge head on with a positive resolution. Berkshire Communities treats its’ employees with respect and honesty. We treat each other like family including praising each other and coaching each other when appropriate. We do this through weekly staff meetings, continuing education and with individual development meetings. We discuss customer service challenges together; we review property performance weekly; we find ways to make additional income or save money; we learn from mistakes; we laugh together; we learn together. Berkshire Communities invests in their employees and awards them based on personal and property performance. The company treats us like we are part of "the family". I look forward to meeting my work family each morning and know if I am off property that my team will do things right too! After all “We are Berkshire!”

Pros

Good company and culture. Awesome group of people. Good benefits and PTO package.

Cons

Recently they have been cutting positions for the onsite teams which is leaving minimal in person front line support which communities really need. This is putting a lot of stress and pressure on the onsite teams and is impacting work life balance which is something that Berkshire used to value more. Additionally, cutting positions does not give opportunities for growth.
