Pros

Freedom. You are your own boss in a way. It is fun to interact with people and communities. You set the hours. Initially it sounds like a great opportunity......

Cons

You will be working for BVM to make most of the money unless you sell a large amount of ads. Be prepared of working for free for a year or longer. If you are lucky to go to print it will take a while before you will make a decent living. Potential of income is limited as if you grow the publication the baseline increases too. If the magazine is well received you will be able to carry on after one year. If not you will have to start all over. The Company is very unorganized and they feed you a bunch of lies about their printing and operational costs which is noy as high as they claim to be.

Pros

Everyone - from publishers to designers and corporate office staff - is helpful and eager to see the whole team succeed. Other content coordinators are wonderful about sharing information that would be relevant to magazines outside of their area. Quarterly webinars also keep us abreast of what's new.

Cons

Some things within the software can occasionally be clunky; but IT listens to suggestions and always works to make improvements.
