Pros
The people that I work with are very involved in each other's lives, and get to know one another. It's a friendly and familiar place to work. There is a lot of attention given to customer service, which in my opinion is the most important part of any job in the public eye. Knowing that the senior management all the way up to the top care about their customers and are constantly trying to find ways to improve. It's also nice that they have dozens of contact numbers at our fingertips, so even a new entry level employee has the resources they need to excel.
Cons
All Best Western hotels are independently owned. That means that even working for a large company such as Best Western, you may not be entitled to all, if any, benefits. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room to advance from a locally owned hotel in to BW International. It would be nice to know that you could make a career out of the job that you are doing. Also, there are so many corporate brand standards and guidelines that you must stick to, and not all of these make sense for every property and employee across the country.
