The job itself was alright, but the management made it horrible - Desk Clerk Best Western Employee Review

Pros

It's a fairly easy job, being a desk clerk. And provides you with time to catch up on reading or studies. Because afterall, you're basically a secretary. You answer the phone, greet people, and check them in and out. You do deal with comments or complaints. You are also responsible for coffee and breakfast set-up at most Best Westerns I believe.

Cons

The environment isn't that great for a young girl like myself, you do get hit on quite often by men away from their families. But also because a lot of the hotels are owned by relatives, you get stuck with a manager who truly only got the job because he was a relative, that YOU have to train.

Pros

Ever-changing events . Something new ever day.

Cons

You work with individuals who have a level of entitlement of thinking the this and that is theirs. That's t heir space, this is their drawer. You can't do "xyz" but constantly asking you to be in said space while your job is at the front desk . Not not the kitchen. Not the laudryroom or washroom. The entire things is crazy.
