Pros

Benefits are hands down the only pro

Cons

Compensation does not go to those whom deserve it. If you want to make a decent wage here you better be a friend of higher ups or purchase the most comfortable knee pads and start sucking. Leadership moves in extremes with no regard for anything or anyone else. Everything done is by opinion base only. Preaching leadership values is what’s done best but only very few actually walk the walk. Change and development is expected but there is NO FEEDBACK given, if your doing something wrong expect to be written up or fired with zero notice or opportunity to change. People are expected to apply for internal positions but in return don’t get interviews or opportunity for advancement. If you do get an interview be prepared to get a denial letter with NO FEEDBACK on how to change or grow. Everyone has a hand in all the pots but nobody is communicating with each other. You have supervisors and managers that give different directions daily that contradict each other so your not sure who to follow or what to do. If you ask for clarification be prepared for a virtual spanking. Nobody cares about anyone but themselves. What a circus! I see many other reviews going back years saying the same things so this will just be another ignored review that gets swept under the rug. If you desire mental health issues and don’t value yourself then overstock is a great place for you.

Pros

Fast paced environment with LOTS of hands-on experience with many different tools. The people are the reason to stay, lots of smart and caring people, managers, and leaders towards the bottom of the food chain.

Cons

Upper Management has completely destroyed this company and gutted it. In my several years at the company, communication is as poor as it could be. Bonuses are promised and then not followed up on. RIFs happen far too frequently. It is abundantly clear that this company does NOT care about it's employees, and at the moment is almost seems like they are trying as hard as they can to get people to quit so they don't have to pay severances before acquiring more companies and moving headquarters to Texas. The culture in the days of Overstock was incredible, it made people excited about being able to work there. Now people are hanging on by threads, large teams are now carried on the backs of just 1-2 people without additional pay as we see co-workers get laid off left and right. It is not sustainable. Important things are being missed because there are not enough people to do the work, which will end up biting the company in the butt for compliance and finance reasons.
