Pros

- ability to have tons of ownership - lots of smart and kind ICs - business may do well if the tech debt doesn't sink the ship

Cons

- most leadership doesn't understand how to build a roadmap - priorities will shift constantly and ICs will need to work late nights and weekends - common to see ICs online past 2 am - overall it's not worth the stress

• Micromanagement was relentless and suffocating • Every decision required approval, and every task was questioned • I lost confidence in my judgment because every suggestion required unnecessary justification • I had no autonomy to do my work • The same lack of trust affected the entire team • Repeated feedback was ignored, and nothing improved
