Pros

Company very diversified and stable. Very good growth and potential for the future. Company is very conservative and offers a reasonable incentive bonus plan for middle and top management, much more lucative for top management. Good oppportunities for travel as Bio-Rad has locations all around the world. I.T. Management appears to be flexible regarding time off. Very good core base of employees at all levels, very knowledgeable, and for the most part, very good to work with.

Cons

Lack of career development opportunities, lack of opportunities for advancement even though top management indicates it is dedicated from hiring from within. Bio-Rad management trying to address these shortfalls, but no real progress in the past few years. Bio-Rad management tends to favor talent from the outside, before recognizing talent from within.

Pros

I love my co workers and the ability to make my customers happy. Benefits are alright and I do like the products.

Cons

Modern marketing is non existent and the company has been taken over by sweater vest tech bros who feel phony at best. This company is too large to innovate or be nimble, yet too small to acquire new things to sell. Salaries are just so low now that I might need to leave, then come back just to get a pay raise. I’m seeing similar jobs posted for 20% more base than I make 10 years in. No transparency on advancements and annual raises do not reflect effort and making too close to plan on sales just sets you up for failure in the next year. I’d say use this company for a few years then move on.
