Pros
I have heard that this company was loyal to employees and there was reasonable job security compared to other biotech companies. However, this is changing now. Nonetheless, good place to start after graduation to get some industrial experience. Pretty good work life balance.
Cons
My review is strictly about the clinical diagnostics, since I do not have experience in other divisions. Top heavy company. There is very little possibility to moving up. Though part of the employee benefit is educational assistance, they pretty much do not approve any of your request, if it was not directly applicable to your CURRENT position. And of course you would not be in that position if you do not have already the necessarily education to do the job. There is no career development, everyone does the same job, regardless of education level, and even if you move up it doesn't mean you get more responsibility. The job itself is very repetitive, they always fall back to the good old ways, and management is not open to new ideas. If you are a hard core scientist do not even think about working here, you will be frustrated how things are done. Right now it feels like there is no direction, the company is loosing money, they lay-off people and it does not seems like there is an idea how to make progress. Solutions seems to be "band-aid" like. Lots of politics and favoritism.
