Pros

Biogen has been a great company to me since the moment I started here. You can tell that the company genuinely cares about their employees by both taking care of them (amazing comp and benefits) and providing opportunities to learn and grow. They have strong talent management systems that ensure top talent is well taken care of. Additionally, their handling of the pandemic has been flawless. Biogen has adapted to a new way of working and is continuing to learn from the pandemic and mold the future of work in a way that works for all employees. I have felt safe and cared for by Biogen throughout the past few years. The company and it's leaders genuinely want to see me go where I want to go and will help facilitate that however possible.

Cons

The company has scaled quickly and the processes and daily management systems have not scaled with it. It can be frustrating for those who have come from companies who understand the need for standardization & process. Additionally, priorities from the top are not always made clear which causes confusion to seep down into the lower ranks of the organization.

The benefits package is strong and competitive, which adds a lot of overall value. There are many internal departments and career paths, making it relatively easy to explore new roles and grow within the company. On-site cafeteria is a convenient and appreciated perk. Many colleagues are highly experienced and have been with the company and industry for years, making them great resources for learning and mentorship.

Cons

Promotion policies can be limiting—there seems to be an informal rule that prevents employees from being promoted more than once in a year, even for high performers. Salary could be more competitive compared to market rates. Equipment and internal systems feel outdated and could benefit from modernization to improve efficiency.
