Pros

Working with dogs. something to do to fill in a gap or if you’re in school. If you live in Manhattan or near Manhattan the commute isn’t too bad. Tip cash from a few clients at the end of the year (if you’re a small location).

Cons

Small locations (boutiques)- no work/life balance. Mostly like just be you and a supervisor. Medium locations (Gyms)- there will be times where it’s just you and 35 dogs for longer than you’re supposed to. Always short staffed. More flexible. Large locations (retreats)- usually 2 handlers on busier days. Dog walking is a handful. Usually 20 walks ranging from 15min -60 mins. UE is busier than UW. Micromanaging. You’re expected to find your own coverage. Will bounce to different locations on holidays. No raises or bonuses. To get more money you will have to get promoted, but there’s always a chance you will get randomly demoted without proper noticed. Company raised prices 3 times in a year to fund for new locations and new employees but no raises. People are leaving left and right. End of the year clients got emailed to tip but it’s through the company so you won’t see that money unless you get money directly. Will have you do many task outside of your job description for less pay. If you complain you’ll get gaslighted into thinking you don’t work enough to get paid that. Had everyone do a survey about the company but said not to complain about the pay. Oh and benefits? There’s none that I heard of. (First half of 2023) Dog handler -$15/hour Dog Walker- $16/hour Supervisor- $17.25/hour
