Pros

No commute? Amazing. No unnecessary meetings? Amazing. Lots of team building events? Amazing. Ability to focus without office distractions? Amazing. Work from Austin one day and Vegas the next? Amazing. Setup your office and equipment how you like and with whatever technology you want to use? Amazing. OUTSTANDING benefits? Amazing. Culture is very important at Bitwarden especially given that we are an entirely remote team. While I've yet to meet any of my co-workers face to face it would be a seamless transition if we ever had to share an office. Work-Life balance is actually a key concept here as well. They realize if an employee is burned out they are going to underperform. While very obvious most companies do not embrace this idea enough. GRIT - Gratitude Responsibility Inclusion Transparency. These are the core values of the organization and I see them demonstrated on a daily basis by all the team members. Usually this comes off as a bit cheesy and just a vanity banner that companies wave but not here. Everyone truly buys in to this concept and how we work (and the product we produce) showcases that truth. Communication is also very good between team members. Being a distributed team communication is critical for everyone. I've yet to encounter any issues on this front and applaud everyone being able to use the various tools available for different communication needs (i.e. should this be an email or a quick instant message?). On the topic of communication, C-level execs *regularly* interact and keep the team in the loop about the business. Never once have I ever had this type of experience from any company. I can't speak highly enough for how much I enjoy my role and this company overall. Not since my days at the Lightbox game development studio can I recall enjoying my job this much every day.

Cons

Overall con would come down to a personal item in my opinion. If you aren't familiar with a distributed team, if you aren't familiar with effective communication, if you aren't familiar with being "off leash" to do your job, then this company could be a difficult fit. Some people need a lot of rigid structure to accomplish their tasks and that is totally fine. However here you are hired because of your talents and your ability to complete the task in front of you. To me, personally, it is a plus but I could see some people struggle with that fact.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to take initiative and learn. Senior engineers are willing to mentor and are invested in the product. Overall a great culture of innovation and dedication to open source.

Cons

If remote work isn't your thing you likely won't be happy here.

Pros

- The company culture and people are great! Everyone I've met here has been welcoming, intelligent, and committed to the company vision - The pay and benefits are both very good, especially for a company of this size - The company fully embraces the benefits of remote work and empowers its employees to do the same

Cons

While growing quickly the company is still small. If you're not a bit of a self-starter you may experience some struggle, but the abundant documentation and helpful coworkers will mitigate most of it.
