You will learn an insane amount on how to development for a large enterprise product if you stick with it. There are many opportunities to grow in the direction that you want. The team is very collaborative and relaxed. You will also make decisions that have tangible and important effects on the product. I started out as a DevOps developer and ended up leading a small engineering team in a couple of years.

Being a small company may ward some people off, but I personally loved all of the quirks that come with it.

You will learn and be exposed to a lot. I really enjoyed the work. The other Junior employees were great people.

During my time there, there wasn’t much structure for onboarding, which I think led to issues down the line. They called it a “trial by fire,” and it definitely felt that way. One thing that should have stood out was that the core team was made up entirely of junior employees. Management also felt disorganized. For context, two people left during my relatively short time there. There were some micromanagement quirks as well, such as having to log and track our time in a Google Sheet for every single task, every single day. I would be entering my time and could see the CEO and COO hovering over our sheets. Other things I think are worth pointing out: * Pay wasn’t great (around $60k–$70k) * No benefits * On-call responsibilities * Micromanagement * Fully on-site
