Pros
Bizzabo prides itself on being a BizzaFamily. After spending several months with the company, I can say that this is 100% true. Everyone in the office cares about one another. My coworkers all come from varied backgrounds (including NASA, farms, other states, and other countries), and I look forward to checking in with them every day. This awesome dynamic starts with the leadership. It's extremely inspiring to be able to schedule a one-on-one conversation with the Founders whenever needed, and they create a space and vocabulary for giving feedback at every step of the way. This same sense of open communication exists with my marketing team members, the rest of the NY office, and even our Israeli office on the other side of the world. Part and parcel of the BizzaFamily dynamic is an extreme sense of autonomy. Leadership may offer suggestions, and will often provide great feedback––but we have an incredible amount of agency in determining how we reach our goals. As someone in the marketing field, I especially appreciate the opportunity to let my creativity run wild (as long as it's backed by sound strategy and data). In addition to the work, there are also many opportunities to BizzaBond. There are movie nights, company happy hours, and Pizzabos (catered lunches where we catch up with our Israeli teammates via video conference). I personally started a board game night with a fellow Bizzaboer. You can bet your buttons that there were chips- and soda-a-plenty. I know this all sounds ridiculously positive, but that's exactly how my experience has been. I'm confident that my fellow Bizzaboers would say the same.
Cons
One of the perks of working here is also the biggest challenge: autonomy. While it's great being able to determine what you want to work on and how you want to execute on it, a lot of careful planning is required. Someone may ask you to do something when you already have your plate full with lots of other tasty tasks. To paraphrase Uncle Ben in Spider Man, with great autonomy comes great time management skills and knowing how to set deadlines that are comfortable for you :)
