Pros
Great immediate team, decent benefits, including WFH flexibility.
Cons
I used to love my job but now this company is unrecognizable. Constant reorgs and silent layoffs cause chaos. Teams are shuffled around all the time, most of the time without explanation and you will have a new lead and lead’s lead every 3 months or so. This just leads to more chaos and a lack of mission. You’ll work 10-hour days fixing onboarding disasters caused by upstream decisions you or your team had zero part in. You are both the safety net and the scapegoat. Someone at the company 4 months can call you out for following your team’s procedures and you’ll look like the one who’s in the wrong. Toxic management is acceptable and rewarded and good managers who speak up for their teams either leave or are fired. You’ll be tasked with the job responsibilities of 3 people and then as they slowly pick your team members off, your responsibilities will continue to mount. When you explain that you are overwhelmed and ask for assistance, you are met with “How can AI make this easier”. The move to replace 1p customer interaction with 3p and AI does nothing to help customer retention. They’ll be left wondering what happened to the person whom they had already built a relationship with. Worst survivors guilt ever. After multiple public layoffs then the smaller, quieter ones that continue to happen, I was presented with a promotion and pay raise. Almost like, “Congratulations you survived this round, good luck this next one” but the firings and silent layoffs could come at any time so it heightens the level of anxiety and stress. Teams running themselves into the ground to meet unattainable goals without real metrics. Management then makes it so that a typo is a firing offense.
