Pros

They do 1 on 1 check meetings with managers and employees and have some structure to have helpful conversations. Unfortunately it almost always results in no concrete action or changes.

Cons

They preach and preach about maintaining culture, clarity is kind, having hard and constructive conflict. You have two options as an employee here, you can lean in and embrace the growth and uncomfortable conversations or stand by yourself until they decide to part ways with you. During my year at block imaging I leaned in and embraced those many uncomfortable conversations and opportunities for interpersonal growth. I gave feedback so honest my manager said that he had never had an employee say anything close to the things I said to him. And yet none of those conversations helped my team, none of those conversations helped my morale or changed any part of my work experience at block imaging. At every turn I became more discouraged and less and less motivated to continue working hard for a company that catered to employees and managers who showed up late and found ways to slack off on the clock. Block Imaging is so obsessed with growing and investing in their culture they cannot see when they have employees infecting the very culture they are so desperate to protect. They have new hires a week in already showing up whenever they feel like it and disappearing for hours a day absolutely unaccounted for. And the whole year I asked for feedback, incentives or opportunities I could grow and move forward in the company. All I got was a promise that come my 14 month mark I would get a raise based on my performance, (which I was assured over and over again was above expectations) my performance which would be assessed by a manager oblivious to the fact that his team's morale and trust for one another was at rock-bottom. The very thought of waiting that long and hoping beyond hope that I would be finally rewarded for my dedication and hard work is beyond laughable. Block Imaging needs to take a long hard look at how slow they are to move on from terrible employees. They are driving mature and hardworking employees away from working here because they are unwilling to cut their losses on entry level employees who are taking advantage of them at every conceivable opportunity. The Inventory Coordinator team and company in general is bloated with people all too willing to stay at a job that protects them from the realities of real expectations in a workplace as long as they participate in the pizza parties and company culture building activities.

Block Imaging Response

First and foremost, I’m disappointed to hear that your experience here was so negative. While creating a place where people love to work is at the heart of our mission, I recognize that we’re imperfect. One of the most important challenges we face in seasons of significant growth is rapidly developing new leaders. We’re committed to continuing to develop our leaders as they equip and encourage each team member around the world. As it relates to “parting ways,” it’s an infrequent and unfortunate part of leading a team. Block Imaging is committed to creating pathways forward whenever possible. And yet the detailing of your experience certainly provides further clarity as to why we weren’t able to close the gap and made the decision to part ways. Thank you for your investment and feedback. It’s a great reminder that while we work tirelessly and intentionally to create a place where People Matter more…..that every person has a different experience and it’s a mission that stretches us and that we never fully arrive at. On behalf of the entire Block Imaging team, we wish you the very best in the season ahead. Respectfully, Josh Block

Pros

Block Imaging has an amazing culture with awesome people who really want to do their best to support fellow team members and customers.

Cons

It's not really a con, but they are growing quickly and so there are lots of opportunities for change and when they do fail, they adjust quickly!
