Pros
- The culture. Everyone grinds, is willing to learn, help, and lend a hand when possible. - Secure company. Bloomberg isn't going anywhere anytime soon. - Education in all aspects of financial services. - Exposure to sophisticated clients. - Great compensation. - Very good benefits. - Lots of PTO for fintech. - Generally, very talented colleagues. - One of the best places to start if you have any interest in working either in tech or finance. Exposure to both sides of those industries. - Effort to hire diverse workforce.
Cons
- No equity or ownership in the company's direction (almost entirely owned by Michael Bloomberg). - Career advancement is possible, but beyond management structure there aren't enough opportunities in diverse roles. - Though there is a goal to have 30% of management be women or POC by 2022, the current leadership and overall roster in Sales is not nearly as diverse as it should be. - Sales department can be very much a "numbers game" as goals can be arbitrary and change at any time.
