Pros

Most people were really nice, easy to talk to. Onboarding process was great and got you accustomed to the Bloomerang service quickly. Healthcare costs were consistent for the time I was employed but still expensive. Fully remote and they mean it. Provide you with all the equipment you need. Internal support/IT teams were really nice to work with if there was ever an issue. Job itself is tolerable, but made more difficult than needed to be for various reasons.

Cons

Friendly but weak management and supervisor team. Regularly told to reach out when needed help but supervisors were too uninvolved with the projects to be helpful beyond basic advice or asking another coworker for help. Project load and responsibilities were too high. Management, especially after the new CEO came on board, prioritized speeding up turn around time and pressed employees to reduce project backlogs even more than we were already struggling to do. Meetings where entire processes were invented and then discarded as they were clueless how to actually triage tasks without micromanaging. Regularly changed the process and tool used for tracking projects but consistently the supervisor/mgmt team voiced it was unable to get useful metrics from the tools due to limited functionality in the software. High turn over while I was there. Very tight lipped on reasons why. Less than 5 people in the department had been there more than 3-5 years. Most 1-2 years max. Institutional knowledge not valued. The limited culture of building information repositories was left to line level employees if they ever had time for it. Pay rate is extremely poor for the kind of work and expertise required. Even after the raises and market rate adjustment it I found the position was underpaid by at least 15k. Management openly admitted that department raises could have been higher but decided against it. During my time there was little no room for compensation advancement unless you switched roles/departments entirely. The pay scales were muddy, never really clear how you advanced within them and were rarely talked about beyond the review periods. Frankly there was no time for internal development of your skills at all beyond the projects you were assigned due to the high work load. Continually promised "training meetings" to share tips and skills that never materialized.

Pros

The product is good and work makes a meaningful impact. Great collaboration with peers and team mates. Work life balance can be good- depending on your team and manager.

Cons

Pay is below market and annual "merit increases" do not at all keep up with cost of living increases. If you aspire for a larger increase you can try to generate enough value for the company by creating far more work for yourself but still unlikely. Promotions are rare outside of yearly reviews. I only know 1 person that has had a direct conversation with a member of the ELT. The CEO is deeply condescending and patronizing with a thin attempt at jocularity. The company works with many environmental non-profits but has no stance on protecting resources while pushing more and more AI usage.
