Pros

Honestly, the ONLY good thing about BluePearl is the salary. For the industry, it is competitive.

Cons

When you take over a clinic you should really get to know your management and watch them work for a while; some people are not meant for management. Egos need to be in check before you're fit for management. Like many specialty hospitals, they think they are the best of the best. Trust me they are not, they don't care about their employees, they don't care about the area clinics, and they don't care about the customer. They care about the almighty dollar. If you are coming from a general practice, you are in for a shock when you hear how they talk about your previous clinic (your friends, your former boss, and your roots in the vet field). Long work days, no breaks (that includes lunch, hope you can stuff your face really quick in 5 minutes). Gossip, gossip everywhere. Little teenage, high school cliques. Every good person that works there leaves quickly, or when they are so broken and beaten down they have no choice. Rules change daily, with little respect to how to implement the rules, or how that will change the dynamic of the team and workday. Training is done by trial by fire. Want to leave and find something better? No worries, they'll hold the door open for you as opposed to find ways to keep you there. Was told that all employees are expendable. That's a horrible attitude to have about your most valuable asset. Stay away, the pay is not worth your soul.

Pros

Well at least there's animals.

Cons

Where to begin. I mean, it's honestly just a dumpster fire of a company, but who's surprised there? This is corporate America at its finest. The front desk is the punching bag for everyone. Clients, techs, doctors, mgmt... if you work the front desk, expect to be treated like an imbecile. You will be talked down to, you will be screamed at, you will be sworn at. It's obviously your fault that the prices are so high, it's also your fault that Fluffy's owner called for an update. If you follow protocol, the clients/techs/drs will get angry at you for bothering them. If you don't follow protocol, management will get angry at you for breaking the rules. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't. The overworked technicians take out their frustrations on the front desk, but if you dare to throw it back at them, you'll be the one who gets in trouble. When a tech belittles your intelligence, you are expected to take it with a smile and ask for more. It's the kind of job that really makes the findings of the Stanford Prison Experiment come to life. Oh and the doctors? Well one of the surgeons used to fornicate with techs in the exam rooms, so naturally he's the head surgeon now. My advice to anyone looking to work here is this: don't. If you must, then just be aware that this location is a fine example of why the veterinary industry has the highest rates of suicide.
