Pros
working with the most fun coworkers and tons of gratis from different brands
Cons
As a Beauty Advisor in the downtown location you are required to clean up after a client throws up in the bathroom. You are required to clean, organize, do inventory, throw garbage, and on top of that do makeup and plan to make your daily goal. You will have to fight for what you're worth cause with my experience of 7 years in the industry, they will give you the minimum pay The district manager will write you up for every little petty things such as "selling to much" I mean it's a retail job and this is the first time I've gotten written up for being too "forceful" to sell. I don't think I have a gun that I bring daily so that I can force my clients to buy products. They have a lack of trust from their workers. They might be all about sampling but at the end of the day you still get written up for sampling "too much" to customers. even to clients that will spend hundreds to thousands of dollars. If you come across being sexually harassed or experienced racism from other coworkers, forget about the company backing you up. They wont take responsibility and will just pretty much tell you to deal with it. They will keep on scheduling you with that person like nothing happens and will not contact you again. It seems like the company is a big revolving door, but there's many times where I was scheduled by myself and no other coworker will come in for 2 hours or more hours. Also the lack of training is very natural for them. almost everyone I worked with has not been given the proper training that the company has promised. No holiday pay.
