They accused my coworkers and I of theft (stealing from the literal garbage, btw) and withheld our severance pay. This was after we had been abruptly laid off after months of pandemic furlough, where we worked for a few weeks to help them close some of the other stores (making less than we would’ve on unemployment, we just wanted to help out.) This was in the middle of COVID where their long term full time employees were about to lose their insurance, their salaries, and all benefits. Knowing that their employees were committed, hard-working, despite health issues that they relied on their benefits to treat. They really withheld money from employees who they just took everything away from in a desperate time where we were all on food stamps, unemployment, and deeply struggling. All this over LITERAL GARBAGE THAT HAD BEEN DISPOSED OF.
