Pros
The job was super super easy. There were times that I would bring in my homework, and study on the clock, and did not get in trouble. In the short period of time I was there, I was super pushy and made a lot in sales. It was also sometimes interesting to get into long conversations with customers
Cons
The manager really was not a manager. Aside from the manager, I was the only 1 of the 6 sales reps that could show up on time. And when the other employees were present, they would often vape in the back room, even on days when it got busier. In addition to this, there was a lot of needless drama that went on. Because I did not care about the drama, I was often singled out (which is not a big deal, because normally I don't hang out with coworkers off the clock anyway.) Because the other girls repeatedly neglected their duties, the back room often got really disgusting. Food was often left on the backroom table, the trash was often overflowing, and there there were random flies all over the store. Even customers made comments to me about the problem with the flies. I was often bossed around by my equals. For me, this place ended up being a stepping stone into a different career. It was decent in the short term but definitely not a job to be in for more than six months. If I am being perfectly frank, this place needs their entire staff purged. Even for Martinsburg being as trashy an area as it is, The quality of life in this store could have been greatly improved had the manager hired better people.
