Pay sucks, but leadership is worse: Things were great for the first 9 months. My boss, my subordinates, and I got along well. The boss told me that he was so happy I was there and could see the slight turn being made in culture just with having me there and that he loved my instruction style with the new hires. At around 10 months in, my boss did a complete 180. The criticism started out petty and passive-aggressive at first with small slights and nit-picking. He asked me if I was looking for another job and I told him that I was not (true at the time). By January his actions had escalated to full bully status and I did start looking. During one sit-down with him, I was straight-up accused of not doing my job and not working well with other managers, but he refused to provide any examples of this lack of performance or conflicts. I asked the other managers for feedback and no one had anything revolutionary to say or areas they thought I should improve on. The boss continued to refuse to give specific, measurable, attainable, and realistic goals to turn around these perceived inadequacies. Glad to not work for that donkey any more!
